From your Tosin π
"You were the only person who cared if I had eaten..."
- And that's when I knew you were special
Scroll to begin our journey
From College Friends to Forever
We started as college friends on the ASA board. You were VP, I was Treasurer. We worked so well together - raising funds, planning incredible events, spending countless hours side by side. But it was more than work, Marion. You were the ONLY person who cared if I had eaten each day. While everyone else saw me as just another board member, you SAW me as a human being who needed care. That simple question - "Tosin, have you eaten?" - became the most important part of my day. You showed me what genuine caring looks like.
Then you became President and I was your VP. Watching you lead was mesmerizing. Your intelligence, your strength, your ability to make hard decisions with grace - I was in awe. We accomplished even greater things together because you brought out the best in me. Our friendship deepened with our friend group, though distance sometimes kept us apart. But I learned something important: true connections don't fade with distance - they grow stronger. And Marion, ours was already unbreakable.
Remember the times in Baltimore when you'd come to my house while I was jobless, sleeping on the floor? Marion, I had nothing to offer you. Nothing. No job, no money, no prospects. Just me at my lowest point. And yet you came. You didn't judge. You didn't lecture. You just... cared. You helped me get a job when I needed it most. You believed in me when I had stopped believing in myself. Then we moved to Laurel together, to Nigeria and back. Through every struggle, every transition, every uncertain moment - you were my constant. You made every place feel like home simply by being there.
After grad school, our friendship grew even closer. We talked more, laughed more, shared more of ourselves. Then on October 15, 2023, you told me you had feelings for me, that you liked me. Marion, in that moment, my entire world shifted into COLOR. Everything that had been black and white suddenly became vibrant and alive. The friend I'd known for years became the woman I couldn't imagine living without. That date isn't just a memory - it's the bookmark in my life story where "before" became "after." Where friendship became love. Where Marion became MY Marion-y.
I know it's been rocky at times. I haven't always been the partner you deserve. I've let my struggles cloud my judgment, I've taken your love for granted, I've failed to show you every single day how deeply I appreciate you. For those moments, Marion-y, I am truly sorry. You've stood by me through everything - and I mean EVERYTHING - yet I haven't always stood as strong for you. But I want to do better. I WILL do better. Because what we're building together - our businesses, our lives, our dreams of a future family - it's too precious, too beautiful, too important. You make life easier for everyone around you, babe. Let me spend the rest of my life making yours easier, more joyful, more loved.
And now, I want to make this Valentine's Day the beginning of something even more special. Not just a celebration, but a PROMISE. A promise to appreciate you every single day. A promise to see you, hear you, love you the way you've always loved me. A promise that the rocky times are behind us because I'm committed to being the partner you deserve. Marion-y, you've always been the one who cared. Now let me be the one who shows you, every single day, how much you mean to me. This is for you, babe. All of this. Forever.
We're different, and that's exactly why we work.
But more importantly - you make me want to be better every single day
Marion, you're not just smart - you're BRILLIANT. You see solutions before most people even understand the problem. You're solution-forward, strategic, always three steps ahead. Watching your mind work amazes me every single day. You challenge me to think deeper, to see clearer, to understand better.
You take NO rubbish from anyone - and I love that fire in you. Your strength isn't just in what you say, but in how you stand up for what's right, how you protect those you love, how you face challenges head-on without backing down. You inspire me to be braver, stronger, more courageous. You're a WARRIOR with a gentle heart.
Marion, your heart is GOLD. Genuinely caring, deeply compassionate, selflessly loving. You care about people - not just me, but everyone around you. From asking "Have you eaten?" to making sure everyone feels included, to sacrificing your own comfort for others - your heart shines through everything you do. You taught me what real compassion looks like.
You sacrifice for those you love in ways that humble me every day. You help me get jobs, you support my dreams, you accommodate my struggles, you make life EASIER for everyone around you. That's not weakness, Marion - that's POWER. The power to lift others up, to make their burden lighter, to be the person they can count on. You've been that person for me countless times.
Your sense of style is UNMATCHED. The way you dress, the way you carry yourself, the way you walk into a room and transform it - Marion, you're STUNNING. But it's more than fashion. It's your way of thinking, your accommodation, your grace under pressure, your elegance in chaos. You make everything and everyone around you more beautiful.
We're different - you think differently, process differently, approach life differently. And thank GOD for that. You complete parts of me I didn't even know were incomplete. Where I struggle, you soar. Where you need support, I want to be there. We're not the same, Marion-y, and that's our SUPERPOWER. Together, we're unstoppable. Together, we're MAGIC. π
Every location holds a piece of our journey
From the ASA board to Laurel, from Baltimore to Lagos - you made every place feel like home
The ASA board where it all began. Late nights planning events, counting funds, building dreams together. But what I remember most? You asking if I'd eaten. That's when I first felt truly cared for. That's when you became more than a colleague - you became the person who SAW me when I felt invisible.
Our times in Russett hold such special meaning. Moments of laughter, growth, and the foundation of what we were becoming.
Marion, these memories break my heart and fill it at the same time. You coming to my house when I was jobless, sleeping on floors with nothing to my name. You never judged. You just loved. You helped me get a job. You showed me what unconditional support looks like. Baltimore taught me that you're not just here for the good times - you're here for ALL the times.
Moving to Laurel together marked a new chapter. Building a life side by side, making a house feel like home because you were there.
Our times in Nigeria brought us even closer in ways I'll never forget. Experiencing home together, sharing culture, creating memories across continents. You fit perfectly into every part of my world, Marion. My culture became our culture. My home became our home. Watching you navigate Lagos, embrace traditions, connect with family - I saw our future family forming right before my eyes.
Through every city, every move, every moment - our love kept growing. From friendship to romance, from roommates to soulmates. This is our story.
Marion, we didn't just fall in love - we BUILT together.
Three businesses. Three babies. Three dreams brought to life because of US.
We birthed this together. From late nights planning to early mornings executing, from doubts to victories - you were there. I can't run this without you, Marion. Where I stop thinking, you start solving. Where I see problems, you see solutions. This business exists because WE exist.
When one dream wasn't enough. We looked at each other and said "Why stop?" Your vision. My execution. Your strategy. My action. Where I stop, you start. We're not two people running businesses - we're ONE force building empires. This baby grew because you believed when I doubted.
Because ambition recognizes no limits with you. Three businesses before marriage. Three proofs that when Marion and Tosin combine forces, MAGIC happens. You complete my incomplete thoughts. You finish my unfinished sentences. You solve my unsolvable problems. This baby - like the others - wouldn't breathe without you.
I CANNOT RUN WITHOUT YOU.
Not the businesses. Not my life. Not my dreams. Not anything.
Where I stop, you start.
Where my strength ends, yours begins.
Where my vision blurs, your clarity sharpens.
Where my hope fades, your faith reignites it.
You're not just my partner - you're my COMPLETION.
Every spreadsheet we review together,
Every decision we make as one,
Every victory we celebrate,
Every setback we overcomeβ
It's ALL because we're WE, not just me.
Marion, you're ALL that is right with my life.
When everything else falls apart, you're the constant.
When the world says no, you find a way to yes.
When I'm ready to quit, you remind me why we started.
These 3 businesses? They're OUR babies.
And I want to birth more with youβ
More businesses. More dreams. More babies. More EVERYTHING.
Because with you, Marion, I'm not just running.
I'm FLYING. π

My Dearest Marion-y,
I need to be honest with you...
Do you remember that day on the ASA board when you asked if I had eaten? I do. Every single detail. Because in that moment, I realized something profound - you were the ONLY person who cared. Not just about the work we were doing, not just about the events or the fundraising, but about ME. You saw me when I felt invisible.
Marion, I've never told you how much that meant. How lost I felt back then, and how your simple question - "Tosin, have you eaten?" - became the light I didn't even know I was searching for. You cared when no one else did. You SAW me.
And I need you to know - I see you too.
I see your intelligence that solves problems before most people even understand them. I see your strength - the way you take no rubbish from anyone, the way you stand up for what's right, the way you protect those you love with fierce compassion. I see your heart - genuinely caring, selfless, making life easier for everyone blessed to be around you.
I see your style, your grace, the way you walk into a room and transform it. I see how you accommodate others, how you think differently, how your mind works in ways that constantly amaze me. I see ALL of you, Marion. The brilliant, strong, beautiful woman who makes my world make sense.
But I also need to apologize...
I know it's been rocky. I know there have been moments when I haven't shown you the appreciation you deserve, when I've let my own struggles cloud my vision, when I haven't been the partner you need me to be. I'm deeply sorry for those times, Marion-y. You've stood by me through EVERYTHING - when I was jobless in Baltimore, sleeping on floors with nothing to offer. You helped me get a job. You never judged. You just... loved me.
From Russett to Baltimore to Laurel to Nigeria and back - you've been my constant. Through distance and closeness, through struggle and success, through the uncertain times and the beautiful moments. You've sacrificed for us in ways that humble me every single day.
October 15, 2023 - The day everything changed.
When you told me you had feelings for me, my entire world shifted into COLOR. What had been black and white suddenly became vibrant and alive. You complete parts of me I didn't even know were incomplete. Where I struggle, you soar. Where you need support, I want to be there. We're not the same, and thank God for that, because together we're unstoppable.
I want to do better, Marion. I WILL do better.
I want to build our businesses together - side by side, equal partners creating something meaningful. I want to build our lives - making Laurel feel like home, traveling between Nigeria and America, creating traditions and memories. I want to build our future family - raising children who have your intelligence, your strength, your heart.
Most importantly, I want to make you HAPPY. Not just today, not just on Valentine's Day, but every single day for the rest of our lives. I want you to feel appreciated, seen, loved, and cherished - because Marion-y, that's exactly what you are to me.

Will you be my Valentine? Not just today, but as a promise of the forever we're building together?
I love you with everything I have. I see you. I appreciate you. And I promise to spend every day showing you just how deeply you're loved.
With raw honesty, endless appreciation, and dreams of our beautiful future,
Your Tosin π
